Associate partner at Knight Frank, Ali has been involved in hospitality development throughout the MENA region
His previous responsibilities have included overseeing hotel operations, reviewing the daily P&L and enhancing profitability. Ali has been in the Middle East since 2011 and has been primarily working on hospitality assignments throughout the MENA region. In this time he has worked with clients on feasibility studies, concept definition, pricing strategies and optimum site use for both large-scale multi-use projects and stand-alone assets. Ali has worked with major hotel operators to develop market entry strategies for new markets, and has also helped developers successfully select operators for hospitality assets across the region. More recently he has acted as an expert witness to quantify damages in litigation. With regard to the short term rental sector, Ali has worked with clients to maximize the financial returns of existing schemes within the parameters of the holiday homes decree. Furthermore he has published research on the subject examining the impact that the short term rental sector will have on Dubai’s hospitality market in the short to medium term.
