An accomplished CEO, Sita brings more than 35 years’ experience to his position as chief executive officer of IFA Hotel Investments.
In this role, Sita drives the strategic direction of IFA Hotels & Resorts’ operational asset portfolio, currently valued at approximately US$1billion and that operates in the Middle East, North America, Europe, South Africa and Asia.
Prior to joining IFA Hotel Investments in 2010, Sita was the founding CEO of Istithmar Hotels, a position he held for four years. During that time and under his leadership Istithmar Hotels (which later changed its name to Nakheel Hotels) amassed a global portfolio of hotel assets valued at approximately US$4 billion including properties such as the Mandarin Oriental New York, the W Union Square, New York, the W Washington DC, the Fontainebleau Miami and the Corinthia London. While in this role, Sita sat on the board of Kerzner Ltd, where he also served as chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. Sita was also Chairman of Corinthia Hotels and on the board of International Hotel Investments PLC, the listed Maltese owning company of Corinthia Hotels. Sita was also a member of Starwood’s Advisory Board for W Hotels.
Before moving to Dubai in late 2005, Sita was Singapore based where he held the role of EVP of development for Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, a post he held for four years. Sita also spent 13 years at Accor Asia Pacific (1988 – 2001). As head of development, Sita was responsible for adding 30 hotels or almost 6,000 rooms to the Accor portfolio. Sita’s last role at Accor was as CEO of Accor Vacation Club, which he founded in 1999.
Sita began his career in the hotel industry in 1980 at Australia’s then largest and leading hotel company, Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation. More recently Sita has held the role of non-executive chairman of the supervisory board of Best Hotels Properties.
